My 2007 Law of Attraction Year in Review

It's that time of year when magazines, television shows, etc. do some type of "year in review" so I'm going to share my review of 2007 through the Law of Attraction.

Previous to 2007, I didn't fully know or understand the Law of Attraction. Sure many things went well for me, but I also worried about many things. Much of what I worried about never did happen. But something else to worry about seemed to show up. I would think to myself "boy the universe always does find a way to get me out of a problem." Then the next problem would come up and I'd worry again, just to be rescued at the last minute.

Today, what I worry about is greatly reduced. After months of practicing EFT, spending more time meditating, reading more and more about personal development and Law of Attraction, and practicing "right thinking", I'm in a better state of mind. Sure there is more growth, but I've cleared out more of the negativity this past year.

In 2007 I received many good things:

* I met many new people through work, social groups and blogging.
* I've met people in random situations (grocery check-out lines, bookstores, resturants) and in the conversations that developed, words of wisdom or good feelings, were exchanged that made the day a little brighter.
* I found a new place to live, close to work and later found out it was to be closer to where my children would eventually move.
* I received many free lunches and dinners.
* I was successful in all legal actions taken against me and I'm able to keep custody of my children.
* I received a couple of gift cards, just in time, that allowed me to buy things that wore out.
* I was given free massages.
* I've won a couple of contests and drawings.
* I played and won numerous scratch-off lottery tickets. More that I spent on tickets.
* I get to spend more time with my children helping them get their homework done.
* I've received numerous compliments about my quality of work from customers and management.

These items and circumstances represent the good things I've attracted into my life.

One trick I learned, in 2007, that really benefits me is to write in a Gratitude Journal. I've written much in my Gratitude Journal. Documenting the proof that I do attract more good into my life. When I read this journal, I get warm fuzzies again, just like when I originally experienced these items or circumstances coming into my life. The original experience raises my vibrations and rereading about the experience raises my vibrations again. I'm sure that by keeping this practice, and others, 2008 is an even better, more fulfilling and abundant year.

I'm wishing you much success and happiness for 2008.

I'm looking forward to getting unclothed.

Many people, like me, when starting to use the Law of Attraction, desire to see immediate change and when it doesn't happen become disappointed and discouraged. We've seen or read "The Secret" and seem to forget about the "buffer of time." We are in a society that has been molded to increase our desire for immediate gratification: "Instant Loan Approval," "Get Cash Now," spray on our cologne and be a woman magnet "bow Chika bow wow," eating our candybar "really satisfies you" and many more.

As beginners using the Law of Attraction often when we don't see the instant manifestation of our desires, we cycle back to our existing limiting belief systems we've built up over years when ignorant of The Law of Attraction.

So when does this whole thing turn around?

Well, that depends on how much and how long you've been thinking negative and limiting thoughts. It also depends on how much you put into changing your thoughts to align more with what good you want and less of what you don't want. Remember the "buffer of time"? We still have thoughts and desires, albeit some negative ones, that are in queue still working their way through the system to get to us.

This doesn't mean that new good thoughts and desires won't or can't come into our lives. They most certainly can and will. What is important to remember is that we still have other thoughts and desires we had in the past that are in the system on their way to us. What we can do is change how we react and think about what manifests today, tomorrow and beyond. Look at this manifestation of a negative situation and think "Wow! I really can manifest what I think about. Now, how can I make this better?"

"If you do today, what you did yesterday, you'll get tomorrow what you got today."

Now is the time of choice. This is when we can choose to stay in the negative emotion and perpetuate the negative attractions or change our thoughts into one of a higher positive vibration. See The Emotion Guidance Scale in my previous post ("Back to Basics: Emotions")

This is where the training comes in to play. What training? That depends on what you've attracted into your life and what feels comfortable to you. Some examples of the training I'm talking about comes from reading books such as "Think and Grow Rich" "As a Man Thinkith" "The Science of Getting Rich." Programs to sign-up for, Wealth Beyond Reason (aff), Wealth Fundamentals Pack (aff), The Science of Getting Rich (aff). There is energy manipulation techniques: acupuncture, acupressure, massage therapy, reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (aff), binaural beats audio programs and the old standbys of yoga and meditation. The list goes on and on.

By learning and practicing any one or combination of these and other techniques or processes, then we are preparing ourselves for life's events. The events we've attracted to ourselves by our previous thoughts.

I consider my emotions something very special and precious. I'm still working on the balance and mastery of my emotions. I know they are a very strong aspect of who I am. I am very passionate and when I feel or experience an emotion, I can really enjoy being in that emotion for a long time. Even ones that are lower on the vibrational levels, depression, insecurity, unworthiness, worry, doubt, etc. I do have great moments of joy, pleasure, enthusiasm, but in the past it seems I've spent more time with the lower vibrational emotions than with the positive ones.

In the past 46+ years, I've spent time with those negative emotions and attracting the corresponding events that keep me in those states. That is a lot of stuff I've been attracting.

Here is an analogy I've been working on: We all start out as bright shinning beings of spirit and over time we put on layers of negative clothing that cover our light. I've been putting on layers of negative emotional clothing. For example: Parents tell us "no" and we get a negative sock to put on. I'm pissed you cut me off, put on a anger undershirt. I got fired from that stinking job I hate, put on a negative pair of underwear and negative pants. I'm depressed my girlfriend left me, put on a negative coat. After a number of years, if you could see me with these clothes on, I'd look like a four year old wearing a goose down stuffed winter jacket, all puffy and lost in the clothing.

So, now I've spent a couple of years, off and on but mostly on, working on experiencing and living in the positive emotions. Each day, hour, minute of being emotionally positive, allows me to remove another article of negative clothing so I can get back to the bright shinning soul that was born 47 years ago.

I've got some more clothes to take off.

Each day I can remove one or more articles of clothing, I feel less burdened but the weight of these extra clothes I've put on over the years still weighs on me and sometimes it seems like I might not ever get out of all this. Now, here is the best part, I look back and see how many negative cloths are in the discard pile and I can celebrate the success of taking off more clothes. I can get excited about taking off more clothes and seeing the improvement. It's just a matter of how long it takes me to remove my clothes. Hence the title of my post.

Imagine if I were really wearing all those clothes. (Turning for a profile view: "Does this make me look fat?")

Now I realize how much of a burden all these clothes have put on me, how they restrict my movements and taking actions. Maybe even how unattractive I believe they might make me look to someone else. Now it's time that we, you and I, do the positive things we're learning to do: Emotional Freedom Technique, meditation, reading good books, listening to tapes/CDs, reading blogs, thinking good thoughts, etc.

How fast we take off our clothes is up to you and me. How many books do we read? How many programs do we sign-up for? How many tapes/CDs do we listen to? AND most importantly, how often, how sincerely do we practice what we learn.

How to make "Self-Improvement" Work Every Time! - By Bob Doyle

*************************************************

There is an inherent problem with the approach most people take to self-improvement of any kind. There is a presupposition that there is something wrong that needs fixing. Perhaps it is true that there are areas in their lives that they wish to change. However, the mindset with which they approach transformation will very often NEGATE any positive results they might have. Why? Because all of their focus is on the PROBLEM they are trying to solve, rather than their vision for what their life will be like on without the alleged problem.

There is a very basic physical natural law which ultimately determines ANY success on ANY level. This law dictates exactly what our experience will be from moment to moment. Best of all, this law is fully under our control at all times, even if we are not aware of it.

This "law" is the Law of Attraction. Most of the time, you hear about this law in terms of how it will help you to attract wealth or abundance in general. However, the Law of Attraction transcends just those basic desires. The Law ofAttraction dictates that you will receive back exactly what you "vibrate"...that is, what you are FEELING. Where is your attention? Is it on the feelings associated with the problem, or with the feelings of no longer having the problem?

If you approach self-improvement material with the desire to"get rid of the problem", and if all your feelings are on how terrible or frustrating this "problem" is, Universal Law dictates that you will simply attract MORE of those feelings...more of the circumstances that brought the problem to you in the first place. The Universe isn’t "out to get you". It is simply responding to the "request" that you are putting out by way of your feelings.

If, however, you approach your self-improvement solutions with high positive feelings associated with what your life WILL be...if you visualize your success with your program of choice on all sensory levels, particularly on the level of EMOTION, you will literally magnetically ATTRACT the success you are looking for! Miracles will occur!

While this may sound very "mystic" or even preposterous, I submit to you that EVERY aspect of your life right now has been brought to you in perfect response to your prevailing thoughts and beliefs which directly effect your emotional state, which in turn causes you to emit very specific and magnetic frequencies which attract like frequencies.

We must never forget that beyond simply being flesh and bone, we are, at a molecular level, ENERGY. And our personal energy obeys the same physical laws as all other Energy which we study more traditionally.

The wealthiest, most successful people in the world use the Law of Attraction (albeit often unconsciously) to effortlessly bring into their lives whatever they envision. This could be wealth, successful businesses, or satisfying relationships. Or, it could simply be wisdom, peace of mind, and a sense of purpose.

The big secret is that you truly CAN have whatever you want, regardless of how "pie-in-the-sky" this may sound. You need only learn a few key concepts about HOW to ask for what you want to begin receiving it in abundance! Despite what you may currently believe or have been taught, it is not the purpose of our lives to struggle, to work hard for years, or try to "figure things out". Our job is to do what we love to do. When we do that with full trust and knowing that doing so will naturally attract our deepest desires, we become powerful magnets, which absolutely assures our success.

I love "Thoughts from the Universe"

I signed up for the "Thoughts from the Universe" daily messages through TUT's Adventurer Club and got this message today. It very simply tells how the Law of Attraction works.

By the simple act of thinking, Dean, vortexes are created, invisible energies are applied, and circumstances begin creeping to make real what was previously just imagined. This supernatural pull of your thoughts continues long after you think them, whenever there follows intent, expectation and action; moving mountains, parting rivers, and doing the "impossible" until there is the inevitable manifestation.

This is how your "thoughts becoming things." How they physically become things in a dimension that already exists, with billions of players and massive momentum. Not by appearing out of thin air, but through a manipulation of such forces in the unseen that literally begin shifting, morphing, and arranging all of the elements in your life so as to deliver to you the nearest equivalent of what you've been thinking. In other words, the "law of attraction."

"Thoughts becoming things" explains the law of attraction. It's why there is a law of attraction. And unlike any other 3 words in all the vocabularies of all the languages in the world, "thoughts become things" tells you exactly where you fit into the picture, as the thinker, the decision maker over what you will think about, revealing your power as a supernatural, all powerful, unlimited, CREATOR.

But, of course, many prefer not to think of themselves as so phenomenally powerful.

Just thought I'd share this with you.

Seed Money: So money does grow on trees

Yeah, maybe a bit of a cheesy title, but you're reading this article aren't you?

I've come across articles relating to the idea of Seed Money a couple of times and never really read the articles. Then I decided I had some time and read the following article.

Since the concept relates to the Law of Attraction, I thought I'd link the article here:

Have a prosperous day.

Don't Quit

This little bit of prose came to me in an email from Bob Proctor "Insight of the Day" daily email inspiring thoughts. You can sign-up here:
Insight of the Day

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Back to Basics: Gratitude

I'm big on gratitude. Anyone who has been reading Law of Attraction for Beginners for sometime know I'm big on gratitude.

I mean more than the obigatory "Thank you" that our parents taught us to say when we received something. (And what we teach our children to say.) I'm refering to the deep felt, totally WOW feeling we get when we recieve a great boon to our lives, a great experience, so much fun and joy that we ooze appreciation.

When I do something for someone and I get what sounds like a obigatory "thank you" I do not really sense there appreciation of what I've done. When I get many of these obiligatory "thank yous" without the genuine feeling behind it, I'm less inclind to do something again for this person. How about you?

When I do something for someone and I get what sounds and feels like they really appreciate what I've done, I get tickled and experience a good feeling and I'm encouraged to do for them again and again and again.

Now I'm not saying that the Universe sits back listening to how we express our gratitude, but it does respond to our vibrations and if our vibrations are genuinely strong, we resonate more of the emotion and attract a stronger response.

Additionally, I get HIGH from genuinely expressing genuine gratitude. This feeling, for me, seems to last a long time.

I think I'm blessed to live in San Diego. I can walk outside any day and I'm thrilled to be here. Even when it is cold, windy and raining, I genuinely love the weather. Why? Because it IS a wonderful expereince to be alive and enjoy this physical world.

I write, by hand, in a Gratitude Journal. This 10 or so minutes gives me time to relive that wonderful experiences that happened to be today. I get to feel gratitude once again. And since Gratitude is one of the highest vibrational enmotions, whoopie, I'm riding high on the emotional guidence scale again.

Back to Basics: Emotions

Our emotions are our vibrations. What we vibrate is what we attract. What we attract is what we see and experience in our world. What we see and experience help create our emotions. Neat little cycle. We can also make changes in this cycle by 1) changing our emotions, how we feel or 2) visualize (see) something different and feel that emotion.

Abraham has provided us with a list of emotions. The closer we are to the top of the list, the higher vibrations we are experiencing and therefore the beter we feel, the better life we are attracting.

The Emotional Guidance Scale:

1. Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
2. Passion
3. Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4. Positive Expectation/Belief
5. Optimism
6. Hopefulness
7. Contentment
8. Boredom
9. Pessimism
10. Frustration/Impatience/Irritation
11. “Overwhelment”
12. Disappointment
13. Doubt
14. Worry
15. Blame
16. Discouragement
17. Anger
18. Revenge
19. Hatred/Rage
20. Jealousy
21. Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
22. Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

Now think about this list for a moment. It should seem pretty obvious that the emotions further down the list are ones that when experienced, take away our personal power, we feel less in control of our lives. The higher emotions on the list help us feel more empowered.

Endeavor to fell the emotions higher on the list. "Don't Worry, Be Happy"

The Magic of Games

Games are a big part of my life. I've enjoyed playing lots of games; card, board, computer and role playing. I learned many games from my parents and friends.

I started a game club on campus while attending Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. The OCC Game Club was one of the most active, involved and recognized clubs on campus. Our club did funsraisers and the proceeds were used to buy educational games for the children's center on campus. Games are a big part of my life.

Some say life is like a box of chocolates, I say it's like a game. Once you know the rules, it's easy to play. Some players understand how to play quickly, some take longer and some players don't even take a look at the rule booklet. In the game of LIFE everyone can win. Unlike Monopoly, Clue, Sorry, etc. there is only winners in this game of LIFE...unless you declare yourself a looser.

The rules of this game are simple: Think, Be and Do.

Players: One Gamemaster and unlimited number of additional players.

Gamemaster: There is one overall ruling Gamemaster. The role of the Gamemaster is to oversee that the Supreme Rules are followed.

Playing pieces: One game world for all to play in. Each player gets one body, one mind, one spirit. (Note: everyone's spirit is related to everyone else's spirit.)

Rules: Think of what you want. Be in the now. Enjoy.

Strategy: Players can think about anything they want to be, have or do and they will be, get or do it. Whatever you put your attention to, energy in and focus on, you will get. Be aware of the Gamemaster, it knows what you are thinking and feeling and will give you what you want.

Watch out for the EGO. This component of your playing piece can sometimes get in the way and cause setbacks, defines and sets limitations and otherwise make the game less enjoyable than it should be.

The game is most enjoyed when shared with others, so include as many people as you can. Make more friends, smile more and have a great time.

Have fun and pass the dice.

Back to Basics: Quiet Time

Recently, I took a step back from all the activity I was involved in; blogging, personal development and businesses that I'm working on and realized I've spent less time on spiritual development. Meaning I've taken on a whole bunch of activities directed toward accomplishment and achievement on the physical plane and I lowered the amount of time I spent on spiritual development.

I, once again, came across the video of Dr. Wayne Dyer's Power of Intention and realized that my connection with Source got a bit rusty. (If you have already seen this, like I had, you might want to take a look at it again since it's come into your life.) :)

As we know, the Law of Attraction is a Universal Law. Something that applies everywhere, to eveyone, like gravity. We know that our emotions, what we feel, is a guide to what we are vibrating, therefore what we are attracting to in our lives. Sometimes we, like I referenced in my opening paragraph, get so involved into manifestation activities that only see those activities and sometimes forget about those others activities that connect us with Source, the Universe, or God(ess) if you prefer.

I'm refering to quiet time or meditation. What physical activity does for manifestion of our desires in this world, meditation does for manifestation in the spiritual world. It is a balance that is needed. Got to get both the spiritual world and physical world to work together.

During the summer months, I was much more in balance. I devoted fairly equal time to physical activites and spiritual activites. I then started to shift more into physical activites to speed up the process, but only found out that negelcting the spiritual activities not only hindered any growth I was making, but I ended up crashing again.

Crashing is a bit drastic of a term, we sometimes do that use drastic or overdramatized language to convey meaning. So, let's say I took some backsteps. :)

Anyway, I started making more time to sit. Not so much meditate, but sit quietly.

Examples:

1) I stopped going outside to eat my lunch and connecting with nature. Well, it was getting too hot for me, so I sat inside. I said to myself, "Well, since I'm in the coolness of inside, let's see what's on TV. Oh, goodie, "How It's Made" is on, that's educational." Loss of connection with nature/abundance. So now, I am going back outside to eat lunch and soak in the heat and appreciate the heat, welcome the heat, for the short period I'm outside. I stopped identifing with how miserable the heat is and welcomed it for it's part in the cycle of seasons.

2) I stopped reading blogs on personal development. Many people say that reading 10 minutes a day of a good book (or blogs) will help develop your mind because you are planting good thoughts in your minds garden. (Lifted from James Allen's excellent book As a Man Thinketh) Since I stopped reading "personal development" ideas (planting good seeds of thought) when I was working on business plans and reading business books, I was comming across some seeds of negitivity "beware of this', 'watch out for that'. Just little seeds of doubt and negativity that carried over into other areas of my life, not just business. What shook me out of this finally reading an email/subscription from Ed Mills' Evolving Times. He mentioned that he gets lot's of good lessions from reading other's blogs. I thought to myself "Dang it, Dean, you used to do this all the time. Get back to reading PD blogs, you always find something that strikes the right cord for the right situation."

In summary, take a balance approach to your life. Both spiritual and physical development. Make some quiet time, to sit and calm yourself. Connect with spirit, wether it is outside eating lunch, going for walks, or meditating. Reconnect with Source.

Also keep planting good thought seeds in your mind's garden. Read good books, blogs or The Good Book, whatever, just keep good thoughts going into your mind.

Blessed Be.

Back to Basics: Building Belief

This week I'm focusing on the basics of Law of Attraction for Beginners: Building Belief.

Here is some informtion for review:

See my Definition of Law of Attraction

See my definition of How Law of Attraction Works: Quantum Physics

Today's new post is meant to address the times when we doubt and get frustrated with things not manifesting. This happens when we are attached to the desire, we set-up ressitance and block ourselves from manifesting.

The million dollar home, the black Mercedes, the 200' yacht, traveling around the world for a year, etc. are all great things I can have. But sometimes I hear that little ego voice telling me, "Yeah right! How are you going to get that?" Then doubt creeps in and I once again see the lack in my life. Crash goes the belief system.

So, back to basics. Take little steps to build up the belief system.

The Parking Space Exercise:

How to get that parking spot close to the movie theater, the mall entrance, the stadium, etc. Parking spaces are easy because we are not so attached to the manifestation.

Since there is no attachment to making this happen, your life doesn't come to an end. So, you don't get the close parking spot, big whoop, you walk an extra 30'.

Before you leave one location: home, the office, a firend's house and you know where you are going; the mall, the grocery store, the movie theater, etc. sit for a moment or two and visualize your whole drive, each stop light, each turn and driving up to the parking spot you want. See the spot open for you as you approach. Feel yourself being excited that you get to park so close to entrance. Be appreciative of this close parking spot and thankful for the safe drive to the mall, the store, wherever. (I visualize the whole trip so that I can manifest the whole trip safely.)

I love doing this. The grocery store I frequent near my home has parking stalls right in front of the store. No crossing traffic, I mean right there at the front of the store. I visualize doing this almost all of the time. I say "almost" because sometimes after I pick-up my kids and heading home, I get more involved in talking with them than I do manifesting a parking spot. But even then, I do get a spot up front more times than not. I believe, because I'm use to finding a space up front most of the time anyway, I have a positive expectation that'll I get one each time I go shopping. When I don't get one, I just park and say "It's a nice walk to the store with my kids."

Remember the basics. Do the little steps that build up your confidence and expectations that you can do this.

What do you do to build your belief that Law of Attraction works for you?

Greetings from San Diego

Ahhhhh!

How nice it is to have another day off from work.

Now, please understand I'm not thrilled about the wildfire damages; displaced homeowners; evacuated people and animals, etc. going on here in the San Diego area. Far from it.

But I can appreciate the time away from work, they closed down the call center. I spent sometime helping work evacuate the building. I've help one of my roommates pack in preparation for possible evacuation.

Now, it's just time to do what ever else I can to proceed through this situation.

Just a breif description of what it's like here:

Image the smell of a campfire. It smells like this all the time now. EVERYWHERE!
The sun is a deep orange glowing ball surrounded by a brown haze.
In a way, it is fascinating, quite beautiful.
And those are the good thoughts I will keep in my mind and be thankful that I live safely a few miles away.

Here are some positive thoughts to get through challenging events.

When you see, hear, experience "disaster", think of the good that does come from this. Our communities are responding with aid in the form of money, food, water, time, etc. to feed and shelter those who need it. We as humans are good and I like to see this good happen more and I think about how we can all be better people and how we can help each other.

Blessed Be.

5 Cliches to live the Law of Attraciton

I like cliches, sayings, adages, quotes and little pearls of wisdom. So, I spent sometime thinking of a few cliches that apply to my life using the Law of Attraction.

Stop and smell the flowers

I'm big on sensory experiences. (For example see The Most Important Part of Law of Attraction.) I figure that finding joy in the simplest things is what can keep me happy much of the time. Little joys and pleasures throughout the day help releive tension and release negitive energy.

One day, years ago, I decided to take this cliche litteraly and stopped to smell some roses I saw in someone's garden. I found that the sweet rosy smell filling my nose brought me a sense of calm. From then on, when walking through the neighborhood, I alway stop to smell the flowers I see. I love jasmine and gardenia. What's your favorite flower scent(s)?

A barrel of laughs

I find that one of the best ways to cleanse myself of negitive energy and a bad mood is to find someway to laugh. Whether it's watching a sitcom on TV, poping in a DVD or tape, talking with a friend, laughter has always brought up my vibrations. Even when I got so into wallowing in misery, I had to find a way to trudge through the negitivity and take action to make laughter a priority.

Life is just a bowl of cherries

Like cherries life is sometimes sweet, sometimes tart. The pits represent the hard times we sometimes encounter when going through life, but that is just part of the sweetness of the cherry.

Remember everything that you encounter in life is something you attracted. It's part of the experience. Sometimes sweet, sometimes tart.

For me I'd much rather have all the happiness and joy in life, but sometimes what I think I what comes to me is different than the way I expected it to manifest. Oh well.

Whatever floats your boat

Follow your passions. Do what makes you happy. Whether it's volunteering in a community project, at your children's school or extra curricular activities. Find whatever it is that makes you happy.

If you want to know more about what you want to be happy about, meditate. Or, just sit quietly and ask your higher self "what makes me happy?" "What else can I do to make me happy?" Waiting quitely for an answer that may come as images or a feeling. You might find it by opening a magazine that may show you something that inspires you to new endeavors.

Count your blessings

This is another way to say be grateful or show appreciation. Remember, that by genuinely appreciating what we DO have we are given more good things.

Focus attention of the good things, keep your vibrations high. What IS good in your life?

I keep a gratitude journal and write in it the good things that happen to me. Whenever I need a little pick-me-up of good vibes, I can open my journal and read an entry about when good things came into my life. This way, I remember that I do manifest good things and once again feel grateful for those good things that appeared in my life.

Can you think of any others cliches?

Mistakes and Learning Experiences

It's coming up on six months that I started this blog and now I look at the mistakes I made in starting and developing this blog.

But wait! Did I make mistakes? I guess that depends on what perspective I take in looking at the last six months.

(If you're thinking "Is this just a post about Dean's learning experiences with blogging or is there a moral to this story?" Go ahead and keep reading, you'll find out soon enough.)

In January 2007 did I know anything about blogs and blogging. Not really. I thought they were only for sharing information with family, friends and the MySpace crowd. Not a good image. Then I did some research. Learned how extensive blogging has evolved beyond the family, friends and MySpace crowd. I learned about linking, search engine optimization, comments, pingbacks, bloglogs, etc.

OK, so now I've learned some information and with this information, I'm going to plunge in and get started.

Ready * Fire * Aim

But wait, how do I get started? Blogger, Wordpress, TypePad? Use a free service or get my own domain and get a hosting service? At the time, this was a new process for me. I knew some information, definitely knew I didn't know everything and I was willing to learn as I went along and make corrections later. (I think this is a key point in perspective about mistakes and learning experiences.)

Ready * Fire * Aim

Almost six months later, I find that there is more to blogging than I initially thought. I enjoy blogging more than I find challenges to blogging. I'm thinking "OK, this is looking like something I want to continue doing." I've had a itch to write for years and never took pen to paper (see how long I've been itching to write). Business and love letters aside, I have spent very little time writing since my college days. Except for my Rocky Horror Communication Analysis paper, college papers were for the most part, very dry.

(Here is one hint to happiness, do something you like doing. I know everyone says DO what you LOVE doing, but I like writing. I love helping people, I love sharing information with people. Blogging is one way of sharing and helping people.)

Over the past couple of months, I've watch my readership climb, but have I reached people? (I hope so.) Have I made a connection? (again, I hope so.) Do I have all the tools available to optimize my writing, my readership, my reach and more? I've come to realize no. Time to make corrections and changes. Coming soon to a browser near you, a different look and feel. The learning experiences brought up by six months of blogging. (Comments and suggestions are welcome.)

Ready * Fire * Aim

Ok, now, Do I have my life on the line? No. Do I have lots of money on the line? No. Will my whole world collapse around me if I go Wordpress OR TypePad? No.

Does the severity of the questions we ask, affect how we look at mistakes verses learning experiences? Most likely, but will taking one approach "learning experiences" produce better outcomes than "mistakes"? I hope so.

Here is a personal example:

I recently, 2006, nearly lost everything. Here comes the emotional downward spiral: two "less than successful" businesses; I ended up moving in with my ex-father-in-law and was staying in the bedroom that my ex-wife grew-up in (Weird huh); unemployment for 3/4 of the year and only a part-time job the last 2 months of the year. At the time, were there mistakes made. Yes, mostly believing in mistakes as something bad. Intellectually, I knew about learning experiences, but emotionally I was wrapped up in the mistakes. And emotions are the fuel for attracting into our life. As I was focusing my attention on lack and failure, 2006 got worse and worse. It was unpleasant and I could see myself spiraling but was blinded to the answer.

December 2006, I'm introduced to The Secret. Nothing really new here, but it just shined a light in a dark cavern and got me to THINK again. DUH! The emotional charge of failure and making mistakes clouded my thinking.

2007 rolls around and things start changing. New job, new career, new opportunities. Get a new place to live and then the my children's mother tries to take custody of them from me. Hmmm. What's in your vibrational escrow. But that is a whole other topic.

It's now the end of August. I've been viewing that whole year as a learning experience. I'm able to look back at the businesses that were less than successful in 2006 as learning experiences. I've taken the emotional charge out of the mistakes (thanks to EFT and writing) and now using that time as information to make new choices going forward.

Moral of the story:

Mistakes are what we beat ourselves up with mentally and emotionally. I know, I've been there. By changing how we view life events as learning experiences, we can take in new information and process this information to a more positive outcome of the event and with an open mind, we can see more clearly.

Personal Development List

Priscilla at PriscillaPalmer.com started compiling a list of Personal Development sites with contributions to the list from readers and other bloggers.

This is an incredible list of sites from various disciplines and practices. To quote Priscilla:

Personal development is a large topic that includes but is not limited to (law of attraction, goals, time management, physical fitness, education, motivation, inspiration, and social skills). This list should include any blog you feel can benefit us in our growth process.

I thought I had plenty to read as it is and to take advantage of the recommendations from others, I'd need a couple of uninterrupted days to read just half this list.

There are already many authors and blogs on this list I enjoy reading. Here are some that I would like to add myself because I enjoy their thoughts and style.

The Most Important Part of the Law Of Attraction (IMHO)

Appreciation and Gratitude

I became exposed to the Law of Attraction in December 2006 through the movie The Secret. But what really struck a cord with me and has made the most difference in my life since seeing The Secret is Appreciation and Gratitude.

Since applying appreciation to my daily life, wonderful things have started to come into my life. Other than the goodies that have come into my life (two massages, breakfast, lunch, movie tickets, gift cards to several places) I see the world with a whole new approach and with new eyes. I see things with more perspective when appreciating what I have and when I get something I am very thankful.

Why do I say the most important part of Law of Attraction is Appreciation and Gratitude? Because, appreciating what I have sets my mind in the presence of now and is a high vibration. When in the emotion of appreciation, my senses open up, I feel lighter and more connected to source. When I appreciate, when I ame truly thankful, I feel filled with grace.

Think about this for a moment. Do you enjoy doing something for someone who is grateful for your work/actions/deeds? Would you keep doing something for those who are ungrateful or do not appreciate what you do? (psychological issues aside) For me, I tend to continue putting energy into relationships where I feel appreciated. Where gratitude is shown for my efforts, deeds, gifts, etc. I desire to continue doing for others. When I am unappreciated, I will seek out a way to find gratitude to be given to me from another source.

Fortunately, the universe passes no judgements on us for lack of appreciation of what we receive. But appreciating what we have and thankful for what we get raises our vibrations. (Abraham places Appreciation in the number 1 slot in the Emotional Guidance Scale.) That is what the universe reacts to, our vibrations. So it makes sense to keep putting out the higher vibrations so the universe responds to those vibrations more than others.

For some, showing gratitude or being thankful for what we receive gets in the way of their current experience. They are on the lower end of the Emotional Guidance Scale and vibrating at lower levels. Fortunately, gratitude is a habit that can be learned and developed.

When I was young, my parents taught me social skills. I was taught to say "thank you." "Thank you" became a habit that frequently carried no real feeling of gratitude. Sure, every once in awhile I received a gift that WOW'd me, someone did a special thing that really brought up the emotion of appreciation. But for much of our lives we say "thanks" out of societal expectation of courtesy.

So, some might ask "What do I have to be thankful for?" Consider this example by contrast.

If you are reading this, then you have a computer or at least Internet access at school or public library; therefore you live in a country that is full of abundance. By contrast there are people in this world that do not have Internet access, nor a computer, nor a local library, heck, not even enough food to feed themselves. And you think about how much you don't have. In contrast you live in abundance. Think about this for a minute. Really, think about this for a minute. Look at the society you live in compared to some who do not have enough good food or clean water.

Click here and go to The Hunger Site. Click on the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE!" button.

You might be looking at your current situation and comparing to some other lifestyle you want to experience. It's good to remember to briefly observe other lifestyles for comparisons to keep some perspective. Now you have something to be thankful for, living in an advanced society.

"OK Dean, I live in an advanced society, and surrounded by abundance, but I could never manifest anything I want."

On the contrary. We manifest EVERY day. You wake, you are hungry and desire to eat something. You seek a way to satisfy your desire by finding food either in the kitchen, the grocery store, a restaurant, mom and dad's house, etc. You have a job that brings in money so you can exchange for food, shelter and clothing. Why do we poo poo this manifestation of our desires (to eat every day) because it is such a common and repetitive manifestation that we do not appreciate that food is so plentiful in most modern societies. We all work, earn money, each day because we desire to eat several times a day. What if you didn't work? Would you be thankful for when you do get a job that allows you to buy food once again. Are you thankful when a friend/family member/stranger feeds you? So be thankful each and every meal. Be thankful each time you get in your car, so you can go to work, go buy groceries, go to a restaurant. Be thankful for your education, whatever level you attained. Be thankful for (fill in the blank).

There are many exercises that help us build our skills and this is one that really I like. It uses something we might not fully utilize ever day, but we do use every day. Our senses. This exercise is high in value, raises vibrations, increases our awareness, and develops our appreciation.

When I walk out my front door and am more fully in the presence of nature, that is, unobstructed by the man made construction of a house/condo/apartment, etc. I allow myself to sense more of the beauty of the world. I take a moment and breath deeply of the morning air. Try it every day, take just a couple of deep breaths and smell the day. Notice the smells, exhaust of cars, fresh cut grass, woodsy smells from trees, scent of flowers, the smell of oil rising from the asphalt after a night of rain. Just sense these smells. Think, or say, "thank you for my sense of smell."

Open your eyes and look around w/ purpose to see the trees and their leaves, plants, grass, the sun's light on everything, the shadows created. Look at the various shades of greens and browns, cloud formations or the cloudless sky. Look at the cracks in the sidewalks, the colors of houses, the variety of car styles. Just appreciate your sense of sight. Get excited that you can see all the beauty. Think, or say, "thank you for my sense of sight."

Stop and listen to the environment. The birds chirping, hooting, cawing. Notice the car engines running smoothly or roughly, people washing the breakfast dishes, kids laughing on the way to school. Or, notice the silence and quiet of the morning. Think, or say, "thank you for my sense of hearing."

Really take this time to feel the temperature, the wind, the humidity. Use your senses. (OK, you can keep you tongue in your mouth, unless it's snowing.) Say a silent thank you for the beauty of the day you sense before you.

Now do all this again, about noon time. Notice the change in smells, sights, sounds, feel the difference of noon.

Do this once again at night.

Do this for one minute in the morning, noon and at night. That's three minutes a day. Out of 1440 minutes a day, you can spare three minutes for this exercise. Of course you can extend this longer which is more enjoyable.

So what does this have to do with appreciation? Simple.

It's very simple.

Appreciate the simple things in life. "Stop and smell the flowers." Literally.

"I've Lost That Funky Feeling"

I recently wrote that I have been doing some energy work and was feeling a bit on the ill side. Being ill is a physical manifestation of some negative energy that is being carried around or that we hold within our emotional or mental bodies. If we hold on to this negative energy long enough and the illness manifests into a disease. At the risk of stealing someone else's idea, hyphenate the word disease, dis-ease, and you have no life of ease. Notice how you feel uncomfortable when ill? How good you feel when healthy?

Anyway, on with my story.

I've been using Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) to clear out blockages and negative energy. (No, I'm not going to discuss why I've been doing both here.) I've been routinely listening to audio programs and reading. By that I mean more an action of habit without really getting into the audio or the reading. Yes, I intended to read/listen with the intent to get out of the funk, but I kept holding on to the funk. I felt alright, just funky.

Interesting, it didn't crack until Friday when I went for one of my morning walks. This walk was good. It was a walk focusing on eliminating this funk, to become clear and high vibing again. It was a walk with a purpose.

The walk itself was pleasant. I live in an area of San Diego called Scripps Ranch. "County Living" is the motto on some signs about the area. There is a lake, maybe a pond depending on the legal descriptions of a lake and a pond, about 400 hundred feet from home. Some homes are overlooking this lake. An abundance of eucalyptus trees surround the lake and there are some fish, frogs, birds, etc. in the micro-habitat. Overall, I quiet and pleasant environment.

While almost home, I saw in the distance a woman with a good sized dog. I think it was some type of retriever. Well, this dog seemed to be bigger than her. If the dog was standing on it's hind legs, it certainly would have towered over her. She stood about 5'2". It appeared to have more weight and mass than her, I'm guessing she weighed about 120 pounds and the dog about 180. (I'm comparing the size and weight of this dog to the St. Bernard I had many years ago.)

Now, I'm feeling a bit more positive and upbeat after this walk. Good for me. Seeing her 'working' at holding her dog back, I thought I'd make a cute little remark "Who's taking who for a walk." Nothing unusual about this. It's the same remark many people made to me while I was walking George, my Saint. It's also the same remark I've made to others who were walking big dogs and always got a cute reply back like "I'm supposed to be the one walking the dog" or "he's taking me out for the walk today" or something generally considered a pleasant exchange between neighbors walking past each other.

Boy, was I in for a shock when she said with a scowl "I'm taking the dog for a walk thank you!" I was taken aback by such a comment that she definitely took the wrong way. I turned after her to apologize for being misunderstood and her reply was "I don't need any more of your rude comments, just let me walk without being bothered by you."

WOW! My first thought was she must know my ex-wife. Then I got introspective and went over the conversation trying to figure out what I did wrong. A few feet later, one guy in a painting crew getting ready to start work, looked at me and we nodded heads and he said "How you doing?" I responded "Great, thanks." I thought, 'until I met her' but decided that I needed to drop the negative feelings that welled up inside for such an odd exchange of what should have been a pleasant passing of neighbors.

Walking the last 100 feet home, still feeling hurt for an attempt to be pleasant turning sour. I started to examine "What am I doing, feeling, thinking, that is putting off this energy that attracted this type of person to twist a quick exchange into an offensive and rude comment?" I thought, I've been dragging this negative energy around, "I've really got to drop this now." Then my thoughts shifted to her.

Being a sensitive person, I tried to understand her. I wanted to know how she might be hurting that tainted her vision of our exchange. After a moment, I realized that it didn't matter. I'm here and I've got to move on. I said I was sorry that she is in pain and went home, fed the birds, took a shower and went back out into the world. This time leaving home, I felt clearer, happier and higher vibed than I have in a couple of weeks.

In retrospect, it's interesting that I had been working on clearing out this funky feeling for sometime. It wasn't until this 'slap in the face' from a total stranger that I realized "I've really got to drop this now" really meant that 'I've got to drop this now.'

On a side note. I came across this from Tony Robbins, that if you want the answer to something, learn to ask the right questions. Now, at some point in the previous day or two, I remember sitting in the throne room wondering "how can I clear out this funky feeling? What do I need to do or say to get rid of this negative energy I'm carrying around?" Was I inspired to take this walk at that particular time to meet her for this experience, just because I asked these questions.

Funny, I don't always write my every thought, every word I say, everything I observe in my life, but it does always find a way to manifest. Let's try this "Do you see over there? That is my orchard of lemon, peach, pear, orange and apple trees. Over there is my herb and vegetable garden." Cool huh!

Law of Attraction at work again.

Well, well, well, look at what I attracted into my life.

Within the past week, I was thinking I'd like to see more videos of speakers talking about personal development, spirituality, Law of Attraction, etc. Today, while visiting Priscilla Palmer's blog her post for today directed readers to Steven Aitchison's site. Steven compliled a list of 22 video presentations that are available on the internet for free.

I've got to thank the universe for introducing me to the list of links I followed to get me to this site. Thank you Steven for putting this list together and introducing me to Stumbleupon.com.

I hope you all enjoy these videos as much as I anticipate I will enjoy them.

Help! I've Fallen and I Can Get Up.

It's been over two weeks since my last post for a few reasons. Not that it really matters, but sharing my experiences is what this blog is all about.

Recently, I put out that I'm looking for additional sources of passive income. About three weeks ago while I was reading blogs, I came across an article that reminded me of an opportunity I was looking at a few years ago. I started doing research in that project again, reading blogs, forums, ordering catalogues from manufacturers, developing a business plan, etc.

Later, I came across another source that rekindled an interest in another opportunity as well. This opportunity came up in conversations as well, so I started to put energy into researching that path as well.

Now, I've got two new projects I'm researching, I still desire to develop this blog, writing, Law of Attraction discussion groups and my speaking and coaching business. Yes, I like multi-tasking activities for variety.

While researching the business opportunities presented to me and the time I devoted into researching those projects, I took time away from blogging, meditating and other activities. Then, I started to feel a bit guilty for not being involved in those activites and picked up watching TV again as an escape. I did focused on sitcoms since laughter is a high vibration activity. Unless, it is countered with guilt for passively watching humourous disfunctional relationships on TV thereby deliberately recreating the same life that is behind me.

Now get this, in the past two weeks, I had to fight off some illness, missed sometime working and taken more medicine than I've taken in years. Of course, this could also be related to the increased energy work I'm doing in clearing out blockages and releasing negative energy. ;-)

I'm sure it's all related and each activity in itself is ok in moderation, but adding them all up is a disruption to the positive high vibration life I've been cultivating.

Then I remembered, that's a key phase here, what Aaron at Today is that Day posted an article on Summer Solstice. The key phrase in that article is "I Remember".

To quote Aaron:

...I am utterly and completely in charge of how I feel, and the fact that I how I feel from moment to moment creates my life.

So, if I feel dull, listless, unmotivated, and just generally uninterested in life, then I will have a dull, listless, unmotivated and generally uninteresting life.

On the other hand, if I realize that every single moment is a chance for me to sit up straight, consciously realize my state of mind, and make any adjustments necessary, then I end up with a life full of consciously created moments.

You can see this full article here. Aaron's got a great site, so spend sometime there.

So, today, after spending sometime reading wonderful, uplifting and all around good feeling material that can be found in my "Blogs I enjoy visiting" list I reminded myself that "I was productive, I did attract what I asked for (ways to make passive income). I observed how I felt after spending less time doing high vibrational activites blogging, meditating, writing in my journals, etc. that I remembered that being in high vibrational activities is more important than doing the research for developing additional streams of income and watching humorous disfunctional relationships. The income will still be there, the opportunities will flesh out and develop. What is most important is to keep the high vibrations happening so that I attract the people, information and resources for opportunities to come into my life.

Archived Hidden Wisdom

Every once in awhile I go through the archives of some of the Blogs that I read and a post title will catch my eye. I seem to find the most wisdom in these older posts than in the current ones. Yes, the current posts are good, timely and well written, but they don't necessarily trigger something for me, at that time.

To me, opening an archive post is like some people opening up a book of knowledge or wisdom and reading the first page that the book reveals. It's a bit of a magickal process that works. That page, or post in my case, seems to be a message from the universe.

One post just caught my eye from Ed Mills at Evolving Times entitled The Size of Your Segment Does Matter. BTW, yes it is a clean article. :)

In brief, because Ed does such a good job explaining this, is that we break our day down into smaller chucks of intention segments. For example, upon wakening spend a moment seeing the overall vision and feeling for your entire day, then focus an intention for the morning preparation before leaving. See the kids getting ready quickly and easily, breakfast on the table, lunches packed and everyone out the door with everything they need.

Once in the car, intend the next smaller segment the travel to work. See and feel the smooth traffic flow, the music you are listening too, being to work on time.

Before going in, take a moment to plan your next segment, getting into work, booting up the PC, making pleasant good mornings to everyone. Before your meetings visualize the customer's your will talk with being pleasant, the sales presentations going very well and the buyers signing the contracts.

As you are about to leave for the drive home, once again intend this smaller segment of how well the traffic will flow, the kindness of the drivers around you, the short line at the supermarket picking up those last minute items(s) before going home. And once home, before leaving the car, intend a wonderful and refreshing home and family time for dinner and the rest of the night.

Thank you Ed for posting this back in February and Thank you Universe for leading me to this gem of wisdom.

My next segment is my morning hygiene ritual...showering. I do a lot of intentional creating in the shower. It's a bit of a cleansing process for the mind. Although a bath is more appropriate. I now consider showers the shorter segment of a bath.

(Hmmm, I think I have a new article in the works now.)

Review: Bob Doyle's Wealth Beyond Reason program by Boundless Living

Bob Doyle, one of the presenters in the movie The Secret, gained his reputation through his Wealth Beyond Reason book and program that are available through his company Boundless Living.

Like many of you, I first came across Bob Doyle through his appearance in the movie The Secret. In the process of researching who the presenters were, I read Bob's biography. I was attracted to his site and his speaking style which struck a cord with me. He seems very grounded, logical and honest. I too am a bit of a logical person and with this subject of Law of Attraction, and touching on metaphysics, understanding the science is very appealing to someone like me.

First there is a free level of membership at Wealth Beyond Reason. Once you get access to the free material and you find value in that, then you can do what I did and sign-up for the full program.

With the full Wealth Beyond Reason program you get several ebooks:

"Wealth Beyond Reason" by Bob Doyle

"A Happy Pocketful of Money" by David Cameron

"The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles
This is the book that inspired Rhonda Byrne to make The Secret.

"Spirtual Marketing" by Joe Vitale
Joe is another presenter in The Secret.

"Wealth Consciousness" by Roger Lanphear

"The Everyday 12 Point Lifesaver" by David Cameron

"Raising Humans" by David Cameron

"Introduction to Wealth Consciousness" audio seminar by Bob Doyle

The "Wealth Consciousness Meditation" by Boundless Living Audio

Some of these titles you may have already come across in other programs or on their own as printed material. Being a bit of an environmentalist I tend to like ebooks. Not only do they save paper, I send them to one of my webmail accounts so I can have access to them whenever I have time to read and I'm on someone else's computer. You can easily print these ebooks and have a hardcopy if you desire.

I signed up as a full program member of the Wealth Beyond Reason program from the beginning. There are different levels of sign-ups that allow more access to program components at different levels. I just started out as a full member. Bob does provide a 3 payment plan that I took advantage of and gave me full access from the beginning and spread my cost over three months. Very convenient.

One feature I really like about this program, it's a lifetime membership. I paid once and will have access to the website forever.

I find the site very easy to navigate. The sites' navbar is on the left and available on every page throughout.

The "Before You Begin" section at the top of the navbar gives you everything you need to start the program, including an introduction to the program, links to free software that you might need such as Adobe Acrobat Reader and WinAmp MP3 player, the ebooks to download, the audio MP3 programs, bonus material and a step-by-step process for manifestation and using the program. For beginning PC users, Bob explains how to download and save files. He explains how to copy to CDs. He even has recorded the information onto CDs if you'd rather save time and buy the prerecorded CDs.

The program includes audio Lectures, Follow-up Seminars, Coaching Seminars, Expert Interviews, an Introduction to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique); Attraction Techniques; "Money Stuff" lectures; LoA Resources Library, Article Archive, Coaching Blog, a Mastermind Area forum, email archives, updates, and more.

Although I was already familiar with some information about the Law of Attraction from my previous metaphysical studies and from the movie The Secret, Bob's program really expanded and clarified the concepts for me helping me to be more mindful of my thoughts. I still go back and read the ebooks for a refresher and listen to the audios every once in awhile, just to get back to the basics. You got to do the basics. It all begins with the basics.

Bob does add new material from time to time. Really with so much information on the Wealth Beyond Reason site already, the "from time to time" is good enough for me since I do have plenty of other Law of Attraction material to read and write about.

Overall this is a great program. I made a connection with Bob Doyle through his Wealth Beyond Reason program and I do highly recommend this program to you. Check it out.

Please enjoy.

Answering the Question: What is Inspired Action?

There seems to be some confusion about the concept of creating or manifesting using principles of the Law of Attraction around the idea of taking action.

Some people, seem to believe that they are entitled to have: new cars, good homes, money given to them, basically something for nothing. Because of these beliefs of entitlement, when they hear teachers of the Law of Attraction tell them "think of it, feel it, visualize it and it will manifest in your lives," they think "Hey, I'm on easy street." Naturally, that will lead to disappointment and fosters the idea "this LoA stuff doesn't work."

Yes, instant manifestation can happen, and it often does.

In watching the movie The Secret we are taught that we need to take action. But what kind of action? Is this the kind of action that involves doing things unethically, maliciously, hurtfully? Hopefully not, that is contradictory of all the personal development we are studying and attracts "the like" into your life. Does this mean we go to work for a boss we don't like, engage in business or work we don't like just to make a buck or worse earn money for the sake of money. No, that takes away the joy and lowers our vibes. These actions set-up blocks and resistance to our manifestations and creations because of conflicts with our joy and happiness.

Then what kind of action do we engage in? Well, we follow our intuition, our "gut feeling", our hunches. We do what feels good and makes us happy. This is the "inspired action" talked about in The Secret. Inspired action is the type of action, that really moves one to do something.

Many people are not accustomed to listening to their inner voice or intuition or hunches. I've had numerous "gut feelings" and hunches, but doubting them or thinking logically about them and later, obviously in hindsight, see the course of action I THOUGHT about produced aless than desired outcome.

Can one sit at home and manifest what they want?

Good question. Sure you can. Here's the trick. Have full faith that whatever it is you want; without doubt, hesitation, or fear; WILL happen. For you couch potatoes, if you are sitting at home, never go out, think about how this will work. (I know, don't think about HOW the universe will provide, yadda, yadda, yadda.) Sitting in your La-Z-Boy, your desire is so strong, your visualisation is so clear, vibration so high, and with unshakable faith, that the universe is so enraptured with your desire that it has inspired others to: walk to your door or call your phone number or mail you what you want. It is great knowing that the hottest and sexiest person you could imagine knocks on your door and falls madly in love with you, just because you are sitting at home. Do you really believe that will happen?

Remember how magnets attract each other when they get close enough to each other. Well, this is where the inspired action comes in. To speed up the attraction process you need to be out and about where the universe has more opportunities to have your ideal partner "cross paths." The universe will send you feelings, thoughts, inklings, etc. to do something or be somewhere. Inspired action. Maybe you are inspired to go to the bookstore and get a coffee, go for a walk along the beach, go back to school, try a different restaurant or even attend a Law of Attraction workshop. :) All of these, and others, are possible places where you can meet your ideal partner.

Although the example above demonstrates a personal relationship, consider this can also be to meet a business partner, new client, some stranger who gives you a nugget of wisdom or even a new friend. You might find a new restaurant, a device or component for a project you are working on or come across an entry form for a contest to win a trip to your desired vacation spot and you have to enter to win.

In summary, get up, get out and be open to opportunities that present themselves to help you manifest your desires faster.

A List of Games to Play with Law of Attraction

I'm using the word 'game' for a couple of reasons 1) games are fun and can be exciting. Since the Law of Attraction is responding to your vibrations, and higher positive vibrations produce what we want faster, let's have fun by playing a game. :) 2) games are fun and can be exciting. 3) The Law of Attraction doesn't really know when you are really experiencing something or playing a game to raise your vibrations, so playing a game is a way to fool the Law of Attraction. LoA just sees and responds to your vibrations.

These game ideas have come from many sources. Many of which I don't recall the exact source where I orignally got it. I can say I got them from books that are in my "Suggested Reading" list, some ideas I got from friends and "Blogs I Enjoy Visiting" and others from my "Recommended eBooks and Programs" all these lists are in the right column. I'll be adding more to this list as a personal project.

Writing Games

Some people really like to write, such as bloggers. :) Some occasionally like to write, such as bloggers. :) Some do not even know what a writing instrument is. For those of you who like to write here are some games I've come across and use myself.

Appreciation/Gratitude Journal
I spend about 10 minutes a day writing about all the good things that happened during the day. I write about all the people, places and things that I'm grateful for in my life. I get really excited sometimes and that energy is "imprinted" into the words and paper that I'm writing on.

Scripting
Write a play or story of how you would like to live your life. Or, how you would like a particular event to happen, such as a job interview, a sales presentation, asking for a raise.

It is said that a story is never written, it is rewritten several times. By writing and rewriting with more clarity and detail, you are creating your desires stronger and clearer with each rewrite.

Write a Business Plan
Other than making good business sense for starting a business, you are also clarifying your desire for the business you are manifesting. Whatever business you are creating, your business plan details what you are doing, who your customers are, describe your employees (if appropriate), what is your product, how is it made, who are your suppliers. Whatever business you are putting together, this can be a fun way to manifest your desire.

Write a list of Constrasts of your Desire
Sometimes we don't know what we WANT, but we do know what we DON'T want. By writing about what we don't want, we then can indentify the opposite, what we DO want. Some might say, "but that is giving attention to what we don't want and the Law of Attraction will respond to that." The Law of Attraction does respond to what we vibrate and the more we focus, dwell, give attention to, etc. then that becomes an issue. By giving breif attention to what we don't want, we then can identify what we do want and have something that we can really get excited about and focus our attention on what we do want.

Action Games

Go Be, Do, or Have
Go visit places, luxury homes, car dealers, clothing stores. Because I'm playing this game, I'm really FEELING more of what it is like to have the car, the clothes and live in the luxury home. I can feel my excitment and thrill as I experience these during the game. WOW is all I can say. Try this one game more then another game and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Lottery Scratch off tickets
When I buy the California scratch-off tickets (only when inspiration nudges me too) and I do get a winning ticket, I keep the ticket. Why? Simple, winning is a great feeling and when I win, I have that excitement. If I redeem the ticket, that's it, the feeling is over. By keeping the winning ticket in my pocket, wallet, on my mirror, etc. each time I view the winning ticket I can relive the excitment of winning again. I also say "I am a lottery winner." An affirmative statement that is absolutely true and exciting again each time I say it. My high vibrations are relived again and again.

Sing a Song
Eventhough I was named after the crooner Dean Martin, my singing voice is something that needs work. However, I enjoy the action of singing to my songs that make my heart sing. Even when I'm feeling a bit on the low vibration side, I will sing a line or two of a song that has positive lyrics such as: "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day" or "It's getting better all the time..." Just little reminders of how I want to be and feel.

Play with kids
Kids are just so full of joy and happiness that when they are at play I get such a boost of energy and vibrations get lifted I just feel good and free.

Speaking Games

"Hey guess what..."
Work with a friend, partner, co-worker who you can talk with each time something good happens. However big or small, however exciting or thrilling, talk to each other about how good this is, how exciting this is, talk it up, be excited. Be as happy for your work-out partner when they share with you as you would be if this was happening for you. (Remember we are all one anyway, so this is happening for you.)

Give your acceptance speech
One of the best ways to attract anything is to live as though it already is happening or has happened. By giving your acceptance speech, you are living in the moment that your accomplishment is real.

Remember a major key to manifestation is to be happy and joyful so do these games as long as you are happy and having fun.

Song(s) That Make My Heart Sing

Long time no post...

Yes, life does get busy for all of us at one time or another. Being busy I see as a good thing, if it is being busy toward accomplishing one's desires.

Yet, despite how busy I've been the past weeks, I see no immediate results of my efforts and work. This is where I remind myself that I am in development and that everything is on it's way to me now. (I feel really good knowing that everything is on it's way. And that is most important.)

As I did some reading of other blogs' postings for the past couple of weeks, I came across the tag from Vickie at Contemplate This which was started by Hilda at Living Out Loud.

Back in the High Life Again
Steve Winwood

It used to seem to me
That my life ran on too fast
And I had to take it slowly
Just to make the good parts last
But when youre born to run
Its so hard to just slow down
So dont be surprised to see me
Back in that bright part of town

Ill be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time will open up again
Ill be back in the high life again
All the eyes that watched me once will smile and take me in

And Ill drink and dance with one hand free
Let the world back into me
And on Ill be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

You used to be the best
To make life be life to me
And I hope that youre still out there
And youre like you used to be
Well have ourselves a time
And well dance til the morning sun
And well let the good times come in
And we wont stop til were done

Well be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time will open up again
Well be back in the high life again
All the eyes that watched us once will smile and take us in
And well drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
And oh well be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

Well be back in the high life again
All the doors I closed one time will open up again
Well be back in the high life again
All the eyes that watched us once will smile and take us in
And well drink and dance with one hand free
And have the world so easily
And oh well be a sight to see
Back in the high life again

Bob Doyle Responds

I came across Bob Doyle like many people did, through his appearance in the movie about the Law of Attraction called The Secret. I felt a connection with Bob's appearance and signed up for his program called Wealth Beyond Reason. Below is a link to a video he made as a response to some questions that people have about The Secretand The Law of Attraction. I thought I'd post this here since this is a Law of Attraction blog and I like what Bob has to say.

EFT and Abraham-Hicks Emotional Scale

I just found a great article at Vickie's Contemplate This site about using EFT and the Emotional Scale. Also a follow-up article about specific example of how she used My Experience with EFT and Abraham’s Emotional Scale.

Good work Vickie.

Emotions and Desire

Some say that to “want” something is to feel lack. “I want a million dollars.” “I want someone to love.” Saying the words is one thing, but what of the feeling we put to those words? If one says in a whining, whimpering voice, “I want a Mercedes.” That conveys a feeling of lack. However, seeing a new Mercedes CLK550 Cabriolet cruising past, and your heart starts beating faster, your pupils dilate, and you say breathlessly “I want one of those!” THAT is desire. Keep that feeling as long as you can. I relish in my impulsive feelings of desire, especially when it is something that I’m working on currently. Remember that feeling each time you see that car, each time you look at it on your vision board, visualize and dream about it.

Law of Attraction states that whatever we vibrate, we attract; whether positive or negative. Emotions are our way of vibrating. Thinking about how good we look in our new clothes, disappointed about our beat-up car, the worry about paying our bills, the excitement of last night’s date are all emotions or feelings we have about these events. These emotions are our vibrations we are giving off to the universe.

These examples are good for what we are already experiencing. These are genuine, real feelings we have about our experiences. What about what we want or desire to experience? How can we create these feelings / vibrations? Here are a couple of things I’m doing:

1. Remember what the feeling was like when we actually did experience something similar.

Yes, living in the past is not always a good thing. What we are doing here is what actors call method acting. Recalling a past situation that is similar to what you want or desire for the future. For example: remembering the excitement of winning a tournament, the big game, making a big sale, being in love. We can recall feelings associated with past events, both good and bad. Now, keep those same feelings, preferably the good ones, and visualize new images, new pictures in your head about what you desire. You are the director of your play; you set the scene for yourself, the new images. The actor (you) draws on your past experiences and gives life to your new role, the one in your play with the new desires.

2. Go out and try it, feel it, experience it.

I love the smell of a new car. So for me, going to a car dealer helps me feel the contour of the driver’s seat, the thick padded steering wheel in my hands, looking out through the windows, going for a test drive, etc. Go to open houses in your neighborhood, or better yet, in the neighborhood that you would like to live in. Remember the feelings you get in the awesome rooms, pretend to brush your teeth in the master bathroom, sit on the sofa, etc. Go clothes shopping somewhere other than Wal-Mart or Target, some place that has a dressing area and plenty of mirrors. Admire yourself in some really nice new clothes. Breathe in the smell of the fabric, feel the texture of the cloth, notice the quality of the stitching.

Also observe what other thoughts you have when mating your feelings and your thoughts. Be aware of add-ons to your thoughts of desire. Seeing the Cabriolet zip by, your desire shoots sky high and you say “I want one of those...but I can never afford one” will dampen the fire of desire, weaken your emotion, or quiet your vibration. Let your heart sing. It’s ok to desire and want on a high vibrational plane.

Wanting and desiring are good, when you are thinking good thoughts and feeling good feelings. When there is resistance to feeling good about our desires, there is something negative in our past, which we also associate with desire or the item that we desire. But, that is another issue that will need to be explored later. For now, keep in mind that desire is the first step in creating our new life.

Word tricks to help use the Law of Attraction

Words, both written and spoken, are a powerful force in our world. We have seen words used to take us to numerous wars, propel our species to the moon, and to sell toothpaste.

Words are the means to share ideas and concepts with others. We use words to show and express emotions (vibrations) "I love you" and "I hate you." Hopefully you are saying and hearing "I love you" more. Words are one step toward manifesting our realities.

Words also advance our knowledge. Since the written word we have advanced faster than by oral tradition. Written words preserve knowledge of one generation allowing following generation to build upon that foundation of knowlege.

Words have inspired armies, united people, villified opposing ideals and seperated races. What can words do to us as individuals, besides enticing us to buy toothpaste?

Words can build us up and tear us down just as easily as uniting a nation against a common enemy. Words can encourage us to grow or limit and hold us back from development. "I'm scared." "I can't." "I'm not worthy." Since words are one step in the manifestation of our reality, these words indicate we are stopped or limted. We need to be aware of the words we use on and about others as well as ourselves.

I want to share with you some tricks I've learned to help use words to raise your vibrations, help you feel better and your life more joyful.

I've learned these from many sources over the years. Some have more appeal to me at different times and better effects in different phases of my life than others, but all have a positive impact.

1. Make positive statements about what you want.

I think I came across this more from being a parent than I did in personal development. I've been using it with my children and I've seen wonderful results. When I've wanted the children to do, act or respond in a certian way, I'll ask or tell them what I want them to do.

For instance, instead of using the negative statements:

Don't hit your sister/brother.
Don't throw the ball in the house.
Don't slam the door.
Don't forget your lunch.
Don't run out into the street.

I'll use positive affirming statements of what I do want them to do:

Be nice to your sister/brother.
Go play outside.
Close the door quietly.
Remember to take your lunch.
Stop and look before you go out into the street to get the ball. Or, stay on the sidewalk to be safe.

I've shared this with friends who have children and they tell me it's done great things for their parent/child relationships as well. (I wonder how it'll work on adults?)

It took me some time to modify the way I spoke to the kids on a regular basis and sometimes an urgent need arises and I use a negitive phrased statement. As soon as I catch myself, I restate in the positive.

2. "The world is plotting to do great things for me today. I'm looking forward to seeing what they are."

I picked this up from Jack Canfield's "The Success Principles" CD. I've modified the statement on the CD, for me, this has a more positive impact. I start my day early. When I'm waking up and listening to my alarm clock go off I'll say this phrase. (I wake up to the trees full of birds chirpping, cawing, hooting, etc. as dawn approachs.) While laying in bed between slumber and wakefullness, I think this phrase and visulaize many good things that can happen, things I want to happen and feeling grateful for what is happening now and happened recently. Boy, are my days really good and getting better.

3. Affirmations and Allowing Statements

I use affirmations with some regularity. Some of the affirmations I fully and completely believe and can accept easily:

I'm a safe and cautious driver, I arrive at all my destinations on time and in a safe and efficient manner.

Some affirmations we use may cause conflict with our limiting beliefs we have and will nullify or reduce the effectiveness of the affirmation. I learned some tools from reading Michael Lozier's book "Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don't" to neutralize the limiting beliefs we can add-on to an affirmation that hinder our growth.

Allowing statements on the other hand, are positive affirmations that our desires can be reached as eveidenced by examples and proof that others have accomplished the same goals or similar desires. By using third person examples, we avoid tagging our affirmations with a negative thought that reduces the effectiveness of the affirmation. For example:

"I earn $100,000.00 or more each year."

Sure, some people can easily find this a positive and exciting affirmation. Some still see the contrasting current situation and our ego creeps in and says something like "Oh, yeah, sure. Uh huh, what about this...and this...and this." These ad-on or tag-on statements nullify or reduce the effectiveness of the affirmation.

Allowing statements work differently.

"Every year, there are thousands of people who earn $100,000.00 or more each year."

Of course that is true. We can find evidence of this in news reports, magazine articles, on the internet, stories, etc. It's easy to get excited knowing that others have acheived this level of income. Why get excited about another's success, because jealously is a negitive emotion and emits negitive vibrations. Another example:

"Every day, there are people who are meeting their ideal partner for their life long happiness."

Get excited everytime you see couples walking hand-in-hand, kissing, hugging, etc. Seeing this, and desiring to have a more loving partner and healthy relationship go hand-in-hand to increase your vibrational level and help you visulaize you being in a relationship.

4. "I'm in the process of..."

Sometimes the conflict between current reality and our desires stops us. I've used this statement for years. Mostly when fighting off a cold or illness while building up my immune system. So, instead of saying "I'm sick" I'd say "I'm in the process of fighting off this cold, and I'm winning."

Now I'm using this with more deliberate use of attracting other desires.

5. Gratitude Journal and Recording Your Proof.

I've posted in this blog numerous times of my gratitude for experiences. That was done more sporadically when the feeling of gratitude for an exeptional experience was very high. Recently I've writing a gratitude journal nightly. Since then I'm feeling and experiencing a greater sense of happiness where ever I go. It appears to me that I'm more aware of the little things in my environment that make me smile and feel more grateful each day.

Additionally, I'm writing about all the things I see as signs of manifestations on the way or the actual manifestations. By recording these experieneces, I document proof that they are actually happening and comming into existance. Leaving this to memory is fine, for a short term, but the ongoing journaling makes for compelling evidence that good things are happening and in the process of becomming. Some examples, I was given a tour of a local Unity Center that a friend of mine goes to on a regular basis. While showing me some meeting rooms, we found a local Toastmasters club meets there and the person setting up is in Corporate Training and Development. Since I'm changing careers, this is a good sign that I experienced that I'm on the right track.

Well, I've shared several ideas with you about using words that can inspire and lift up your vibrations. There are plenty more that I'll share here and many more elsewhere to find.

Enjoy life more often.
